We call on Auckland Council to take decisive action to protect communities:
I support Auckland Council taking the following actions to protect communities from alcohol advertising across Auckland:
- Amend the Signage Bylaw, setting out specific requirements for signage at alcohol outlets so that exposure to alcohol signage is minimised
- Prioritise strong, proactive enforcement of alcohol outlet signage under the Signage Bylaw
- Ensure routine consideration of Signage Bylaw compliance in licensing applications and decisions
- Show national leadership in protecting communities from alcohol advertising
