Hon Andrew Hoggard is the current Minister for Food Safety - alongside four other ministers within Ministry for Primary Industries. The Minister for Food Safety is a member of Food Standards Australia New Zealand that oversees the Australia New Zealand Food Standard Codes. These codes detail the requirements for the labelling of alcoholic beverages. The former minister in charge was Hon Damien O'Connor involved in the deliberation of the new mandatory labelling rules for alcohol products. Businesses have had three years from 31 July 2020 to implement the new rules.
